Your First Visit

Brief Paperwork
Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. You may print the information and history forms online before your office visit, fill them out and bring them with you. See - “PATIENT DOWNLOAD” icon in left side menu tool bar.

Consultation
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History & Examination
In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-Ray Studies
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. The x-ray equipment is inspected regularly and conforms to all state requirements. The latest high frequency technology allows us to use significantly less radiation to obtain quality diagnostic images.

At times, patients need to be referred for additional diagnostic imaging such as MRI’s, CT’s, Ultrasound, Bone Scans or other studies. We work with all the local imaging centers and the local hospitals for your convenience. They will assist you in obtaining proper insurance authorization prior to testing.

Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. There may be times when first visit treatment options are limited until necessary test findings or consultations have been made.

Total Time of Your First Visit
You should allow approximately one hour and 15 minutes for your first visit. The total time necessary will depend on your specific need in regards to extent of exam and necessary testing. Actual time may be less.

Home Instructions
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment – Report of Findings
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete report of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.

Referrals
There are times when other physicians are needed. Many specialists are available for referral within the community such as surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other health professionals.
